apps

I curse the day that I discovered Jane. Because Jane has cost me a lot of money and a lot of wasted time, sporadically adding impulsive items to my bag. Jane is anything but plain. She is actually is a pain… to my checkbook. I believe I stumbled upon Jane one day,  scrolling a mile a minute through the numerous pictures of weddings, babies, dogs and selfie duck faces, on Instagram #overit. I specifically remembered that the featured picture was and item I HAD to have at that moment.  After frantically having a seizure and clicking the screen of my iPhone repeatedly, the picture directed me to a link, which then directed me to the website, where I was  asked if I wanted to download an app. And that my friends, is the end of my  story to try to stop spending. Introducing Jane. She is one powerful woman that takes control of all your deepest retail wishes and makes them all come true… but only till the clock strikes 12am and then she vanishes. Now it isn’t 12:00am every day, I just had that whole Cinderella thing working for me and went with it…

Jane is an app/website that pulls the most amazing retail items that you would never consider buying or items you look at and think, “omg, I could totally make this, but why would I when it is 60% off ?!” It pulls items from hundreds of online boutiques and puts them right at your fingertips, with a pretty amazing deal attached to the price. These items range from cute boutique clothing to customizable jewelry, to even monogrammed purses. They have everything; women’s, children, home, fun, men’s, shoes, accessories, pets, baby, toys, maternity, and beauty. The absolute worst part about this app though, is that the deals only last for a couple of days, anywhere from 2 to 3 at the most. It makes my impulsive purchases finger twitch and sky rocket to a whole different level, resulting in severe buyer’s remorse,  after seeing the number of packages at the door, and a confused look of after opening some of the boxes. “What in the world? How will I ever use this? What does this even do?” are just a couple of the phrases that seem to slip out during this time.

I have gotten better though.  Ever since I learned that, if a favorite item disappears before you can purchase it, you can ask the app to notify you if the item returns. Keyword, if. But the one thing that really sparks my impulsive purchase finger, is the deals. A lot of the stuff is anywhere from 40% to 80% off. The deals are just endless and if you like one thing, you can check out the boutique (where the item is coming from), to see if they have anything else listed on the app. The listing will provide descriptive details, reviews, the boutiques name, along with similar products. They include a lot of photos too! And if there are multiple colors or design options, more than likely there will be a picture for each style, not just a template of colors.

I am all about cool apps, so if you have a cool app, that needs to be shared, let me know! I would love to download it and write an honest review. Or maybe you don’t want it shared, because you don’t want friends joining or cashing in on your discovery… still tell me and I promise your secret is safe  xo

This is not a blog post you will want to skimm but rather take the time to hear me out. It is not often that I find apps that I really enjoy, mainly because I just get bored of them or I run into so many ads that I just end up deleting them. Side […]
