I am sure you have been wondering “why so quiet AB?” and unfortunately, or fortunately (I haven’t decided yet), I have been deemed an “essential” employee. On top of that, I started a new job and as I have mentioned before, any new changes in your life take some time to adjust to. So on top of being an “essential” employee and a new job, let’s throw a virus in there that is multiplying like rabbits in Spring time. COVID-19 is another one discussion that I just want to keep out of this post, since it is all that surrounds us lately. But one thing is true, it is real and we all need to be smart and stop the spread.
This week I want to give my followers something to look forward to each day. Every day this week, I will be bringing back some of my older posts that people really enjoyed. In addition to that, I am planning to start a new series called “Yes, We Are Open.” Although the roads might be deserted, I cannot tell you how many businesses have handmade signs in their windows stating, Yes, We Are Open. With that being said, I wanted to create a new series inviting you to share with me pictures and reviews of any restaurants that where you have ordered takeout since COVID-19.

It is important that we support our community, but it is also important that we, the people, get what we pay for. Takeout is a funny thing and honestly I think there are only two businesses that have nailed it; Pizza shops and Chinese restaurants. In all honesty, I cannot stand takeout. Before all of this self-quarantine and social distancing, takeout was the last thing I would ever consider. I would rather starve than have takeout for three reasons.
First, I feel like any and all prepared food or a prepared meal should be enjoyed as it is served. It should be warm and fresh out of the oven, with the aromas filling your nostrils and the space around you. You are paying hard earned money for this food, so why are you rushing the experience? Second, as mental as I am, I 100% believe that takeout food, tastes nothing like the food served in the restaurant. Listen, I understand what I just said and I acknowledged that I am mental, but takeout food has an indescribable taste. I am not sure what it is, maybe the plastic from the takeout containers? Maybe the electrical currents from the lamps the food sits under? I don’t know, but I will leave it at that. And finally, the reason I would rather starve than get takeout is because I have no one to bitch to when my order isn’t right. And if my order isn’t right, you better believe I will be calling you. Social distancing does not give you the right to be dumb and mess up my order. Self-quarantine will not stop me from driving back to your restaurant complaining to whoever will listen and posting a nasty review on your FB page.
With all that being said, I wanna know about the places you have been supporting. Where have you been getting takeout and how was your experience? How was the food? Did it contain that plastic taste that you all know what I am talking about? Were your fries soggy? Did they forget the ketchup, only to realize you already have ketchup in the fridge? It is our social responsibility that we inform the people and put an end to bad take out and hungry bellies. Send me a video, send me pictures, send me a text. Do whatever and let’s get the ball rolling on “Yes, We Are Open.”
