So usually I praise a local company or organization that catches my interest or really out does themselves, but I figured yesterday after my experience at a local boutique that I would mix it up a little bit and instead of doing a Sunday Shoutout, I would dis a company with a Sunday Blowup. Now I am not one to dis companies, especially local businesses but there is something to be said when you go back to a store and everything still remains the same and sucks. So being fair, I will always give a business in my Sunday Blowup a second chance, never basing it off my initial reaction, although every marketer and business owner knows that sales are made within the first 10-15 seconds of entering a store or 20 seconds after their interaction with the staff.

And yet, every time I enter Circles in Stuyvesant Plaza, I am treated the exact same way… like a piece of dirt that they are stepping over. I have been in this store numerous times and it always is the same… hey, at least they are consistent. The people who work at this store cease to amaze me. They are all older women who act like their shit doesn’t stink, yet they work in a small retail store? Go figure? The clothes in that store are completely over priced and it and the clientele that they are trying to cater to… well I don’t think they even have that figured out. They have a mix of Grandma’s Sunday clothes, with girl heading out to the clubs in a $300 top and then add in the prom dresses with the 8000 different scents of perfume. It’s a mess of retail, to say the least.

But if there is one reason of why I am blowing up Circles, it is because of the poor customer service and staff that they offer and have working there. I understand you want to cater to a higher level clientele, but that doesn’t mean you have to become Regina George from Mean Girls in the process. The people there are quick to assume, if you aren’t a “regular” client or don’t have expensive items on, then you are not worth our time and I don’t roll like that. It’s one thing to have your shit together and look presentable but it’s another thing to judge. I know we all do it, but this place just takes it to a whole different level and they need to step back, because times are changing. Everyone’s a critic xo
