I recently decided to take a quick trip down to see my parents in Florida. Usually my trips are very last minute and leave everyone scrambling to make accommodations for the Queen LOL, but my trips are usually so quick and always on direct flights that in the past leaving sporadically has never been an issue. Now, I love flying Southwest, mainly because in all of my trips I have never experienced bad travel, sour employees or any issues in general, so I stick to what I know works.

When it comes to traveling, I am just miserable to begin with, pretty much right from the moment I book my trip. I start thinking about everything that I have to do before I leave and make list after list of tasks I need to complete. And it feels like those are the lists that never end. I have to get someone to watch the dogs and the cat, I have to pack, and I have this weird habit of making sure the house is clean for when I come home. It is a lot to do in a short period of time, for a short period of time, but I get antsy when I am on vacation for too long and usually end up leaving sooner than expected. So therefore, my trips really are no longer than 4 days. However, when it comes to the day of travel, that is when I just am ready to cancel the whole trip.

The whole day of travel just a cluster f#ck. I have learned that I when it comes to getting to the airport, I not rely on anyone nor ask anyone to drop me off and pick me up at the airport. at. I also have stopped checking bags because again, I do not want to be in that airport any longer than I have too. Now… TSA is what really sets me off and with how much stuff we have to go through when going through security, I might as well show up to the airport naked. I probably then would still have to wait or more than likely be arrested. The whole security thing, while I know it is so important, is one of the reasons to fly private. I mean I literally have to completely undress, take my laptop out, and any liquids out only to put it all back in my suitcase. I also have started to seriously question the TSA agents as well and mainly because of the things I have been able to get through security. Recently, I brought my dad down a bag of what I thought were paint brushes and found out there was a paint scrapper razor blade in my suitcase as well.  Yes. I also have been able to several times bring my pepper spray in my purse, until it was finally confiscated. I have walked through with water bottles, a utility knife and so many other things that it actually leaves me very nervous.

As I mentioned earlier, Southwest does everything in their power to make their guests feel comfortable, but with seven screaming children and an oversized woman in the seat next to you, there is only so much they can do. This last trip pushed me to my limits with flying. You would think that by doing so much traveling I would become immune to most of it, but I am not. And while I was squeezed between the woman who should have purchased another seat and the window of the plane, I realized why people fly private. Or at least first class. Traveling is a nightmare and if you have the money to upgrade yo’self, then girl you better do it! Needless to say, I think this will be my last trip for a while. Now with the two dogs, it is hard to leave them and expensive too! And because I only go down for a couple of days, I end up needing a vacation from the vacation that I already took xo
