small business

As many of you know, I am a HUGE supporter of small businesses and especially supporting those that I know. I will pretty much become your greatest fan if 1. I know you, 2. you own a small business, and 3. I leave a very happy customer. Number three is always hard for some people to get. I will be the first to admit that I am very fussy… shocker, and I know what I like and what I do not. But at the end of the day, I support all small and local businesses with Jenna’s Salon being top of my list.

When I first relocated back to Albany, I was swarmed with the idea of having to start over with everything. After being away from the area for three years, I lost track of what’s good and what’s not. I am not one to ask friends for recommendations of places to go or try out 1. because more than likely I will not be as impressed 2. I need to feel as though I discovered something new and cool LOL and 3. I am very fussy. Did I mention that? So starting over meant finding a new hair salon, a new nail person, a new dry cleaner (still working on that), a new esthetician (got that), new second Mom to my dogs aka a dog walker/overnight company (review soon to come)… yeah you know where I am going with this. Besides my dog walker, who BTW is amazing and will feature her business soon, my hair stylist was, and is, the most important person in my life, right next to my esthetician. Yeah, yeah, I know what you are thinking… total white girl problems.

Before Jenna's SalonLuckily, one of the girls, well now she is a mom, so that makes her a woman LOL, started following me on Instagram under her new salon, Jenna’s Salon. Of course I followed back and was really impressed by all of the beautiful hair pics she was posting. I immediately booked an appointment with Jenna herself and couldn’t wait to be beautified!

The salon is located in downtown Watervliet and Jenna has totally put her spin on the area she decided to set up shop. I LOVE LOVE  LOVE going there mainly because of the environment, the décor and the girls! Jenna did an amazing job on my hair and continues to do so every time I see her. And it is not just her! Her staff is beyond talented and my Mother has been in several times to Jenna’s Salon (THANK YOU LADIES FOR ACCOMMODATING HER CRAZY SCHEDULE AND ALWAYS GETTING HER IN) and is beyond impressed with the After Jenna's Salondifferent stylists that have been able to ALWAYS squeeze her in. Jenna is just an amazing person and it totally shows in how she runs and does business. I always leave so happy and so eager to come back. She knows, if I could, I would be in there every week #futuregoals. They use an assortment of cutting edge techniques, products and knowledge and are always attending classes or going down to the city to catch up on the newest trends. I have nothing but positive things to say about Jenna’s Salon, and I am pretty sure I can vouch for all of their clients.

When it comes to lip gloss, lip balm, or lipstick, I am obsessed. More obsessed with lip balm than anything. Lipstick still scares me because I always think it is all over my face, like when I used to apply it at the age of five. Nightmares. Lip gloss is fun, but sticky and messy. […]
